    Dear Mr. Will,

Hello! My name is Aqsa Rahmani. I am in the 4th grade now in America. I want to say a big thank you to you!

Before I came here, I did not speak English. Now, I am learning so much! Sometimes I even help my dad speak better English. He laughs when I correct him.

I have a big dream now! I want to be the first Afghan-American girl to go to space. I want to be an astronaut. I did not think about this dream before because it was so hard for girls in Afghanistan. The Taliban are very mean. They don’t let girls go to school or have jobs. But I want to show them that girls like me can do big things!

You helped my family come to America. We are 8 people! If you did not help, I would still be in Afghanistan and not able to dream big. You are like a superhero to me!

I am starting something really cool. It’s a blog called “Whispers of Aqsa.” I want to tell stories about where I came from and my new life here. My dad is helping me make a website. It’s not ready yet, but I am writing a lot in my diaries. I can’t wait to share them on my blog!

My dad told me you are retiring. That’s a big party for when someone stops working, right? I am sad because my dad lost his job in the army in a sad way. We all cried when he put away his uniforms. My brother Haji was very loud that day. But I am happy for you and your party.

Thank you, Mr. Will, for everything. You made it possible for me to dream and be safe. I hope one day I can do big things like you.

    From,

Aqsa Rahmani, your friend and future astronaut!

same comment. There has to be an easy method you can remove me from that service?
      Thank you!

I’m so glad that you and your family are safe here in the United States! Please thank your dad for serving and working with the American soldiers in Afghanistan.

Your letter is beautiful, and you are a great writer. I used to teach fourth grade and love seeing students who love writing.

I can’t wait to see you as the first Afghan-American female in space. I hope you always dream big, Aqsa! 🤩🚀

      Dear Aqsa,
My husband and I met your Dad when he came to Will’s retirement celebration. Your letter was such a gift to us all!
He was so proud of you and told us of your plan to write and share more thinking. You are a gifted writer and I plan to read everything you write.
Actually, I’m the author of the book, Piper’s Picture Power, he brought home! Hopefully you and the main character, Piper, can communicate some day!
